Missionaries in Belguim
Luk & Holly Brazle
Holly was raised in a town of about 200 in the "Cornhusker State," Nebraska. Growing up in a non-Christian home her friends' youth group shared Christ with her. She was lead to Christ at a Nebraska Youth Camp.
She got interested in missions when she met Luk at Harding in 1998. That year she went on a campaign with Harding to Jamaica. She also took two summers to go teach English using the Bible in Antwerp, Belgium to people who had never read the Bible for themselves.
In December of 2000 she graduated with a degree in Kinesiology and Math. She worked in the Abilene Christian University library as an administrative coordinator to help put Luk through his Masters program.
Holly will use her great gift for hospitality on the mission field. She shows Christ's love every time people come to their home. Once her language learning is done she hopes to teach people English using the Bible again. She has already had an active role in helping with the kids classes and helping in the kitchen at the Summer and Fall Bible Camps.
Holly enjoys family, reading, cooking, stamping greeting cards, and volleyball.
Luk was born in Belgium and lived there for the first fifteen years of his life. His parents were part of a missionary team to Leuven, Belgium in 1977.
In 1993 Luk's family decided to move to Tallmadge, OH. After high school, Luk decided to study Bible at Harding University. During his studies at Harding, Luk took the summer time to travel to Antwerp, to participate in campaigns using the Bible to teach English to people who had never heard the story of Christ.
During a year-long apprenticeship in Belgium in 1998, God showed Luk the need for more workers there. Luk came back to Harding with a dream to return some day with a team to strengthen the work there.
Luk met his perfect teammate, Holly, at Harding, and she was nice enough to agree to marry him in 2000. God blessed Luk with the opportunity to receive more training and in 2003 graduated with an M.A. in Missions from Abilene Christian University. With Luk's experience in world missions, youth ministry, evangelism, and worship leading skills, he hopes to be used by God as a powerful tool in Gent in many different ways.
Luk enjoys family, singing, drawing, playing guitar, Macs, and Holly's home made pizza!
