SonShine Time is our children's worship. We target age 3 through 1st grade. First and foremost, this time is set aside to worship. We want the kids to learn how to worship, learn about God, feel positive about worshipping God, and learn to praise God. We try to teach the children at their level, yet instill how to sit still and listen and how to actively participate in worship.
The worship service has the following general format:
- Welcome kids and take attendance
- Giving (canned goods)
- Bible Lesson
- Read the Bible verse of the month
- Craft time
- Closing / Application

We do have an offering and ask that your child bring one canned item each
week. The canned goods are given to the needy throughout the year. This
offering seems to be more tangible to them, and they enjoy being able to pick
out their cans to bring. |

|
We keep track of attendance and when the child brings their bible. We
reward the kids for bringing their bible by giving a small gift after 4 weeks. |
| |
|
The kids should have a craft item and take home paper with them when they leave.
The take home paper reinforces the lesson taught and is useful for a bible study
with them. The kids also work on the SonShine Time bulletin board each week. Be
sure to check out their work (outside the K-1st classroom). |

We are blessed to have many volunteers to minister to your children. There are 2-4
adults and some pre-teen helpers each week working with the kids. We rotate, so each
group teaches once per month. |
