Welcome to the 1st & 2nd grades! Inside this classroom you will find children that are eager to learn. This
classroom is always full of excitement and many activities on any given Sunday. Their love for the Lord at
this young age is so evident by the love that they show to one another. Their learning is based on many
themes over the course of the year. We just finished this fall quarter learning about making "good
choices". Every week the children love to share the choices that they made during the week. The winter
quarter will be spent on Jesus' life an how special he is to us all.

Please, parents, look at the take home papers and ask your child about the class. They are so very eager to share
with you. Periodically they will have homework assignments to complete. When time is short in class and we don't
finish a paper they ask if it is homework.

We love to draw pictures to send to our Pen Pals in Belize and are anxiously awaiting answers back to put on their Pen
Pal bulletin board.

After the holidays, we will start concentrating on learning to use the Bible. They are taught just what the numbers in
the Bible are, and how to look at them and know what the chapter number is and how to find the verse. This is an important
skill for them to know as they move into the 3rd grade.

The children also learn that respecting each other's ideas is important. Each Sunday we have a "special helper"
sitting with Jennifer C and all the children jump at this chance. What a wonderful way for them to learn about caring
for others.

Tom and I feel so privileged to be their teachers. Please stop by for a visit. The students would love to show
